Estimates of economic activity within the countries of the UK and the nine English regions for October to December 2019.

The most recent data in this report is for 2019Q4. The report does not cover the period of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

These are experimental statistics and the volatility of the quarterly data make interpreting short term changes difficult.

GDP in Wales decreased by 1.0% in quarter 4 (October to December) 2019 compared with the previous quarter (July to September 2019). For the UK as a whole, GDP was unchanged.

The construction sector saw an increase of 0.4%. However, the services and production sectors saw a decrease of 1.1% and 0.9%, respectively.
