Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 Evaluation: Phase 1 Report

This report provides findings from phase 1 of the evaluation and focuses on awareness and implementation of the Act.

This Phase 1 report presents findings from fieldwork undertaken between December 2022 and August 2023.

The aim of phase 1 of the evaluation is to develop a proxy-baseline with which to compare research in future phases of the evaluation.

The evaluation findings focus on awareness and knowledge of the Act amongst landlords, letting agents and tenants, landlord behaviour in relation to the Act, expectations of the Act as well as opinions on support, advice, and guidance.

The report also includes considerations for phase 2 of the evaluation.
