Details

Achieving our vision for a thriving Welsh language country, as well as delivering the Curriculum for Wales, requires a skilled workforce in Wales. The Welsh in education workforce plan outline the steps we are taking in partnership with a number of stakeholders to increase the number of teachers, assistants and leaders for the Welsh-medium sector.

In 2022 to 2023 as a short-term action to support the capacity building of some parts of the Welsh-medium and bilingual education workforce, we established a grant scheme for schools to develop innovative ways of resolving some of the workforce recruitment challenges.

The grant in 2023 to 2024 will be structured into key areas to enable schools to build on the projects developed during 2022 to 2023.

Application process

The Expression of Interest form should be completed and emailed to athrawoncc.wmteachers@gov.wales by 5 May.

A copy of your Expression of Interest should also be shared with the Welsh in education teams in the regional consortia or local authority.

For further information on the grant please visit developing the Welsh language within your school on Hwb.
