Today, I’m pleased to publish a consultation on a draft version of the Welsh Language Standards (Water and Sewerage Undertakers) Regulations 2023.
The Cooperation Agreement between the Welsh Government and Plaid Cymru makes a commitment to develop standards for more sectors and bodies before the end of the current Senedd term. Over 130 bodies are currently subject to standards. The next step is to bring water and sewerage undertakers who provide services to members of the public in Wales under the standards.
My intention is that these standards will cover the different ways the public deals with their water company. I look forward to receiving the views of stakeholders on these draft Regulations and will consider them before laying the final Regulations before the Senedd.
This consultation will close on 5 April 2023.
