Carmarthenshire Youth Council (CYC) provides an opportunity for young people in the county to be involved in helping to shape the services that impact them.
Over the last year, CYC has gained considerable acclaim for its integrated work with partners which has resulted in intergenerational work and community safety initiatives.
The young people involved with the council have developed excellent skills in campaigning and lobbying decision makers, including a successful campaign to overturn a County Council decision to cut school transport.
The judges felt that the project showed innovative partnership working to overcome barriers and influence decision makers across the county which resulted in significant impact on the lives of young people.
