Spencer Major - Neath Port Talbot Youth Service

Spencer is part of the Youth Work Volunteering Team and supports young people in the Blaengwynfi Youth Club and Cymmer Youth Club. His role involves delivering and developing a broad range of activities in line with Citizenship, Art, Sport, Health & Welsh (CASHW) in a fun and engaging way.
He is passionate about ensuring young people have their say, providing regular feedback opportunities so that they can feel ownership of the services being received. As well as getting them involved in designing activities, he has set up youth forums in both youth clubs to provide young people with a space to discuss issues that affect them.
He enjoys upskilling in arts and crafts and then sharing his new found skills with the young people he works with, for instance by delivering hugely successful graffiti workshops.
The judges felt that Spencer is a volunteer that young people can relate to who is delivering meaningful youth work and making a valuable contribution to the Neath Port Talbot Youth Service.
