Anglesey Youth Service
Finalist
Both Anglesey and Cardiff local authority youth services have made use of ‘Virtual Decisions’ - immersive and highly engaging Virtual Reality (VR) experiences, to help young people and adults understand how trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) shape behaviour and support young people to explore the consequences of behaviour in a safe and supportive environment.
In both cases, the technology has also been used to equip colleagues across education, health and policing with the knowledge, empathy and practical skills needed to recognise and respond more effectively to trauma-related behaviour.
Judges praised both projects as powerful examples of digital innovation in youth work which is helping young people across Cardiff and Ynys Môn make informed, confident decisions about their futures.
