You can help people from Ukraine by offering them a place to stay in your home or a property you own.
You will need to apply and provide some basic information about yourself and the accommodation you can offer.
You will receive £500 a month as a thank-you and to support you with any costs. You can still request that your guests contribute a reasonable amount to bills but must not charge rent.
The £500 thank-you payment will be tax free. It will not affect your entitlement to benefits or to a Council Tax reduction.
You may find it useful to attend a free ‘Introduction to Hosting’ session to help you make an informed decision on whether to apply to become a host. There is also a helpline, further training and workshops to share experiences with other hosts. Find out more and register for a session.
We will pass your application to the relevant local authority who will offer practical support throughout the hosting process.
All offers are subject to safeguarding checks and property inspections, to ensure guests are provided with a safe and suitable place to stay.
