Registering visitor accommodation

Visitor accommodation providers in Wales must register with the Welsh Revenue Authority by 31 March 2027.

After a provider registers, some of their details are made public.

Searching the public register

Public details on the register

Some visitor accommodation details are public on the register. This means anyone can search and see them.

Accommodation provider details

On providers, the register of visitor accommodation shows:

  • registration number  
  • company or charity number
  • company or provider name 
  • trading or advertising name
  • business address 

Accommodation details

On accommodation, the register of visitor accommodation shows:

  • name 
  • address 
  • type (such as a hotel or self-catering let)
  • time it’s open for bookings
  • number of rooms or spaces
  • max number of guests

Details not on the public register

The public register does not show a provider's:

  • date of birth
  • phone number
  • email address
